6th Grade

The 6th-grade VikeSpikes program will focus on further developing each player’s fundamental base, along with game time skill development.  Practices & Fundamentals will be led by one of our Master Coaches, who will partner with a combination of non-parent and volunteer parent coaches.  Teams will compete in either the Nebraska Volleyball League and/or other age/skill-appropriate tournaments found locally and in our surrounding communities. This will be determined by where each team will have a balance of skill-appropriate competition as well as success.

Team placements will be held after head HS volleyball coach Terri Neujahr’s summer volleyball camp for all players who are going to be 6th graders in the 2024-2025 school year. You do not need to participate in the volleyball camp to participate in placements, but participating may help get some cobwebs out prior to placements!  Teams will be formed by non-parent coaches based upon fundamental readiness and skill level demonstrated during placements in order for all teams to achieve maximum individual player development and team success during the season.

Placement Date – Friday, June 7, 2024

Placement Time – 10:30-11:45am

Placement Location – Waverly HS Main Gym

COST: $155 (Fee includes min of 16 practices, all league/tourney fees, master coach and non-parent coach fees)

Uniform Requirements

• VikeSpikes Jersey – Player purchased, to be ordered online
• Black Shorts – Player provided
• Kneepads – Player provided
